Fishing is an easy way for family and friends to connect to the outdoors and to some of our province’s greatest natural resources – our water and the fish that swim in it.
Free Fishing Weekends help Albertans and visitors give fishing a try, by allowing fishing on water bodies with open fishing seasons (outside of the National Parks) without a licence.
Dates
Alberta Free Fishing Weekends occur twice a year – during the Family Day long weekend in February and in the second weekend in July.
